Just some interesting Manson trivia: he spent months living at Beach Boys' Dennis Wilson's mansion in the Hollywood Hills shortly before the Tate-LaBianca slayings; and, he wrote and recorded a folk song that was actually produced by a record label.

Other than that, I agree with everyone else: the man does not want to fade into oblivion while wasting away in prison, so he continually says stupid/shocking stuff to draw public attention back to him. He is a supreme egoist and sociopath. To him, being "crazy" was what made him stand out to the world; now he believes that other people are trying to "one up" him by acting even crazier. What a pig.
