anyone else heard this? I got it off a reliable source(the info, not blindness)

Yes it can, there is a risk of toxocara
'Toxocara canis is the common roundworm of the dog. Toxocara eggs are present in the faeces of dogs which have not been treated with the appropriate tablets. If a person comes into contact with contaminated faeces and infected eggs, usually through swallowing, there is a slight possibility of an illness referred to as toxocariasis.'
' Total blindness from Toxocara infection is exceptional. It is rare even for the sight of one eye to be totally lost, though vision can be impaired. However, even one case is too many. It is so simple and easy to prevent following the regular worming of dogs and cats.'

Actually it is cat poo that can me you go blind. I think it contains some very harmful bacteria or something.
They always tell parents of small children to be-careful of cats (cause children will eat anything).

yes, it sure can... canis toxicara.. and you now owe your mate a beer... this generally effects very young kids, because as adults, we know its not nice to play with dog poo... and stick our fingers in our mouths..mmm tastes like dog poo, looks like dog poo, sure smells like dog poo... good job i didnt step in it then isnt it?
