the Macro lens was created in 1974 by Gustav Macro as a result of a peace keeping treaty held in southern Ukraine as it's now known. It was his duty to spy on those conspiring against the Communists of Russia at the time.He sold the patent in 1979 to the US for $250,000. They have since gone on to turn the lens itself into a serious competitor in its class. As it stands you will have to fork out up to $79 for a lens for your camcorder. The main retailers of such equipment are small, largely insignficant photography shops.
