No co-signer needed. You can apply for financial aid thru FAFSA. The application will state"if you are not eligible for financial aid would you consider a student loan. The loan company is usually Sallie Mae. There is no co-signer and the interest rate is very low. This loan is called a Guaranteed Student Loan. The loan is for students only. The web-site for FAFSA is www.fafsa.gov. Also click on the link for customer service and call the 800 number push O after it prompt you to talk in English or Spanish, which ever one you prefer and a representative will get on the line. They are there from 7:am to12:am Monday thru Friday. They will walk you thru the whole process of filling out the application. But before filling out the application clink on the link to apply for a pin. If you apply for a pin it takes three business days via e-mail. Once you recieve the pin then call fafsa's representive. This pin comes in handy when you fill out the application on line. It help you sign your application electronically and processed within three bussiness days. If you don't have a pin before hand, the process takes longer.

No co-signer needed. Go to your local college and ask about financial aid. Here is what you'll need:
A copy of your high school transcipt.
ID, such as a student ID, drivers license, or birth certificate
A copy of your 2005 tax return, if you did your taxes.

Colleges are more than happy to help you out. If you want to try this on your own on the computer, go to www.fafsa.ed.gov . You can fill it out there. If this is your first time, which I assume it is, fill out a normal fafsa. Most colleges offer grants a scholarships as well to help you with expenses. Good Luck! Try to go to the finacial aid office at your local college. That's your best bet!!!

From school..
Financial aid from your college does not require cosigning. Only for private loans that you need a cosigner.

I don't think it's normal to have someone co-sign on a student loan. But any college or bank should be able to give you one. Depending on how bad your credit it, you may have to pay back with horrible interest rates.
Have you tried applying for financial aid? Even if you don't get the full amount for tuition you might get something.
Try going to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

You can also try looking up scholarships...

But definitely speak to someone in your school's financial aid department, they can give you pamphlets and information on different payment options.

you don't have to have a co-signer. Fill out your FASFA. Wait for your results. They'll come back to you with what you qualify for. If in doubt, make an appointment with a financial aid counselor at your school. This is their job and they'll know what to do.
