I was told before that I had an ulcer (no real tests were done) but I did feel better with the meds I was prescribed. I haven't taken them in years and when I drink alchol more than like twice a month about two or three hours after I start drinking I will get the horrible pain in my stomach (not my guts, where my actual stomach is) that is so bad I can barely move, breathe or talk. I have almost gone to the ER before but it will go away in 15-30 minutes.

Obviously I am not looking real medical advice on here but there are people on here who are in the medical field or have had similiar problems.

I also don't drink often at all anyways and not only because of this pain.

First, I think you need to get checked out by your doctor.
Better safe than sorry....could be something worse than heartburn.
Heartburn is a pain behind the breast bone, often described as ‘burning’ in quality. Pain can also be felt at the same level in the mid-line of the back. Most people suffer from heartburn at one time or another. In fact heartburn has nothing to do with the heart - it is a digestive problem. Heartburn is generally related to meals and posture and can often be relieved by remedies for indigestion.

Pain from the heart is also felt in the chest and sometimes in the upper abdomen. There are two kinds of heart pain. The first, angina, is a pain in the chest due to a temporary shortage of oxygen being carried in the blood to the heart muscle. Angina should be suspected if the chest pain is brought on by exercise and relieved by rest. The second is the more severe and prolonged pain of a heart attack. A heart attack should be suspected if the pain is felt intensely in the centre of the chest, spreading perhaps to one or both arms (especially the left) and into the lower jaw; or feels like a heavy pressure or is ‘vice-like’.

Number 1, your body is trying to tell you not to drink. 2nd, A good sign of an ulcer is usually reffered pain about the area of the belly button. If you do have an ulcer, keep drinking and you will know for sure when you start vomiting blood.

If the only time you have trouble is when you drink, you may be alcohol intolerant, possibly allergic. I have done without it for 17 years, and don't miss it.

Not sure could be heartburn, could be acid reflux, certainly sounds as if you should not drink. I would not ask yahoo answers for this condition. You should see your family physician and if you don't have one get one.

We cannot diagnose you. What if you have a serious problem and don't do anything about it just because you believe what we have told you?
