she gets a small ssi check now, she lives with my grandma,but when grandma isnt around anymore, i worry about what will happen, i do not think she can be alone all day while i work. so i am wondering how i could take care of her. is there some program where they will give me a small check to live on if i take care of her, or maybe if i can continue to work,is there some way i can get a nurse to sit with her while i am gone. (and have help paying this nurse}

Try to look into Human Service agencies in your area that cater to people with Mental Illness. If they don't run group homes that serve the mental ill they should be able to refer you to an agency that does. Their are a lot of great group homes out there, but their are some terrible ones as well. Just do your homework. Also, check into support groups for people in your situation. Nami is a national advocacy group for people with Mental Illness. They are a wonderful group, and have a lot of great information.

Contact family services in your area.They will help.Ask folks from her church if they know anyone who can help.Talk to her doctor,see what he can do to order help.
