There a cables you can buy that can connect your Stereo/LP to your computer.
You'll need an Audio card with a "Line In/Mic" inputs. From there you can get software which will allow you to record the sounds.

To record from a stereo LP or a 45 record onto your computer you'll need the folowing:
Purchase a (RCA "Y" adaptor) which is a cord with a plug on one end that plugs into your speaker input on the front or back of your computer. On the other end are 2 jacks that plug into your left and right stereo output jacks.
POLDERBITS -- computer recording software.
Internet Site: http://www.polderbits.com
After polderbits is installed, click on the sound recorder icon to start the program.
Choose "Line in" under the "Sound Source" drop-down menu. Just click record when you tape or
record is cued up. THAT"S IT!
P.S. I'll let you in on a little secret, I used this program to record songs from online music stations.
I just choose the "WAVE-OUT" selection under the Sound Source" drop-down menu.
But don't tell anyone!

Sure - I do it all the time with Roxio "Toast with Jam" (sounds dumb but it's a good program). Patch cords from the stereo to the PC's audio inputs; you can record the tune and then repair scratches and so on with the software.

A heck of a manual.........

you don't have to set up your stereo...just the turntable and/or tape deck...neat stuff!!!

All you need to do is run a patch cord from your stereo to your audio inputs on your sound card. You can use Audacity to record it
