In a town I used to live in there was a chiropractor whose name was Dr. McCracken -- no joke. Also, in a nearby town, there is a funeral director whose last name is Graves. Weird. But the funny one was -- a few months ago I was in the library and there was a little girl running around, knocking stuff over, yelling, jumping on stuff, etc. Her mom comes around the corner and yells, "Serenity, get over here!" I nearly fell on the floor laughing. :)

I know a few, and all are real - Page Turner, Richard (Dick) Head, Peter Riser and Doug Down. What's even funnier is that Doug Down works for the local council - you guessed it - digging holes for sewerage pipes! I don't know Eileen Dover, but I know Aileen Alice Cross - Aileen A.Cross. I also used to work with someone named Daisy Marriage, who married Michael Husband, and hyphenated her surname. Silly move, I think - Daisy Marriage-Husband.

I worked with a woman once that named her little girl Prudence. It was funny - she came back to work after giving birth and we all wanted to know what she named her baby. When she told us, of course we had to say, "....ohhh, that's a nice name."
I think if parents thought to themselves, "...is the name I'm/we're thinking of naming my child going to cause him or her to be made fun of once they start school? If the answer is 'yes', I think the parents should pick another name.
