Yep, along with being gay and wearing blended fabrics..
Man, a lot of people are going to hell! Say, let's go to Red Lobster! YAY! Crab, shrimp and lobster, please!
EDIT: Oh, how convenient that the NT made everything better. Then why are all the fundies still quoting Liviticus saying homosexuality is bad? If you take one passage, you gotta take them all.

Banjuja58, its not called picking and choosing. There was a reason those laws were given to the Hebrew people at that time, and there was a reason the God rescinded it as well. This has been stated in this thread a number of times.
Jesus also said, Matt 15:11 "What goes into a man's mouth does not make him 'unclean,' but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him 'unclean."

The food laws you are speaking of are Old Testament Abrahaimic laws. Jesus said to Paul, that which I have made clean do not call unclean . That was in direct reference to the foods discussed as unclean. Now I will agree that lobster and crabs, and shrmp are the cockroaches of the sea....but they sure are tasty little critters.

This only applies to people of the Jewish race and customs, same as eating pork or other "unclean" meats. This rule doesn't apply to Gentiles, especially Gentile Christians.
See Acts 15 (first Council at Jerusalem) for a reference.

It was. Not now. The reason God gave that command was there wasn't refrigeration and you know what happens to shell fish in the sun,all kinds of disease and bacteria. The same with swine, the tricinosis worms you'd get from the crap they'd eat plus they ate a root over there that was poison to man not to the pig so God said stick to beef and lamb. But that was then this is now.Better hygiene, animal food, refrigeration etc.Jesus said"It's not what goes in a man that pollutes him(foods)it's what comes out(Lies, murders, fornications etc)

Eating ham, too. (Leviticus 11). For those of you who say that's just the Old Testament so you don't have to obey it, then you CANNOT use the Old Testament to justify any of your beliefs, for example regarding homosexuality or anything else. Oh, and the Ten Commandments? Old Testament!! So forget about them. You can't pick and choose what you accept from the Old Testament.

Yes I know that, although at one time I didn't know that, I was taught under the Baptist that when Peter had that dream it meant that it didn't matter what you ate as long as you blessed it first.
It is amazing how some people's misinterpretations of the Bible can lead many astray.
That is why I chose to be a Christian that only goes by the Bible and not by what others say.

Quite possibility to the Jews and Muslims, for Crabs and Lobsters may not be either Kosher or Halal, but you will have to ask your Rabbi and or Mullah to confirm this

if you mean that they are not kosher eating then yes.
there are criteria listed in the Bible for unacceptable animals for consumption.
catfish is a bottom dweller. it cleans the bottom of waters.
one thing that makes pigs unacceptable is that it has no way to sweat out impurities.
it's been found in recent years that certain animals contain certain things that are harmful for the human body.
water body dwellers are the disposal system for the environment. many of the said animals contain lots of toxins and are filled with metals.
it's easy to see that the scriptures contain lists of unhealthy foods. it actually talks against sugar filled foods in the bible as well. in two places i know of.

Yes I did, thank you, I think others should be aware. They are part of the unclean things to eat!!
Get real people, OT still applies. Pork is unclean too, and why? because it's not healthy to eat. Same applies to the creatures that live in water that eat the crap and scum on the bottom.
