I am considering a Disney Cruise next year and would like to know if anyone has any comments on their own experience. There are 2 choices for our family. One is the eastern caribbean and the other is the Western Caribbean. Any info would be helpful!

My husband and I have been on both Eastern and Western, Disney Cruise~~ multiple times. We enjoy both of them tremendously, however the Western Caribbean was really hit hard in the past few years with the hurricanes. However on the western is Grand Cayman which is nice to go to Stingray City (snorkeling).

The Eastern Caribbean is very enjoyable, and very pretty. Also, if you are going on the cruise primarily for the cruise itself and not just the ports the eastern is only at port 3 of the 7 days. We find it more relaxing and enjoyable when the ship is at sea.

Either way, the best part of the trip is Disney's private island, Castaway Cay! (If you can get on a cruise that offers Castaway Cay twice in the trip I would do that).

Make sure you book dinner at Palo's (adult dining) and also brunch at Palo's. (the kids can stay in the kids club while you are dining!) There is a small additional charge for these like $10 per person, but is definitely worth it!!

The shows are fantastic on the ship as well! They are Disney stories with a bit of a twist to them, very nice!

Well, here I am going on and on and you only asked about which cruise to do. If you have any other questions about the cruise I don't mind if you email me (I love remembering going on the cruise!) kdemeter1@yahoo.com

Have fun! Enjoy!

If you have kids, Disney cruise is great. Depends on how far you have to fly to catch the ship and how much you want to spend as to which one to take. All the islands have recovered from the hurricane damages of last year. All have the same amount of ports unless you take a cruise departing from Puerto Rico which will go to 5-6 ports instead of the usual 3 ports. If you haven't cruised before....do not...take one with a lot of ports. It cost more to do sightseeing trips on land, after 3-4 islands they all start looking alike & may confuse you and plus you don't get the enjoyment of doing things on the ship or sit back & relax.

There is a Yahoo Group, not affiliated with Disney, that discusses Disney Cruises. It might be a perfect place for you to get the opinions of experienced Disney cruisers: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/disneycruise/

Hope that helps!

East Caribbean islands are the best.

It really depends on what type of activities you enjoy. The eastern route is known more for beaches and shopping. The western has more ruins and adventure type of stuff. Also, the western route is great for scuba diving. look at cruisecritic.com
