Since this morning my cat meows everytime we try petting her from the abdomen area. She was fine yesterday. She even hissed, something she's never done. She was up and playing around this morning ,just like every morning. But when i picked her up to give her her morning kiss she meowed "differently". She'll keep meowing as long as your hand is on her belly. Even if it's a light touch.

It sounds like she's got some discomfort of some kind. I'd take her to the vet and get her checked out.

Hi there What a shame you're getting so many aggressive answers, as you say you are just asking a simple question, there is no implication in your question that you are abusing your cat, you just want to know! I'm sure cats do feel pain in their tails as on the odd occasion when I have accidentally stepped backwards onto one of our cat's tails - as I've simply not noticed they've been right behind me - they've squawked very crossly. And of course I've felt absolutely terrible, even though it's been a complete accident! It's only happened a handful of times in my lifetime (53 now!) but when it has I've always made a point of telling them that "I'm really sorry, it was an accident". And as soon as they've forgiven me enough to let me I've picked them up and given them a cuddle, plus of course very carefully checked to see if their tail is OK. Hope this helps.

Hello...please make sure to read this post! My 7 yr old is doing the same thing, but he was licking the hair off his belly too..now it is a mess and i am sitting here doing research on the internet how to cure his rash on his belly...after 500 bucks in tests and products this month alone 2 vets are still stumped! I figured out by his exray that he is full of food! Constipated...If you kitten only eats dry food then give him some wet too...dry food will constipate a cat...also make sure he gets alot of water...you can also give him vaseline to lube him up inside...perfectly safe and cats for some reason love it and that is the main ingredient in hairball remedy and cat laxative. Butter is also good but not as potent as vaseline or kitty laxative...your local pet store carries laxatone. Make sure he gets fiber in his diet..my vet suggested pumpkin..unspiced. Metamucil..small amounts sprinkled on his food will help with digestion too. Finally my cat is doing much better with his stomach pain after a horrible week of him not going. But i still have this horrible rash on his belly to contend with now..Make sure you are watching what his Poo looks like..this can help diagnose what is going on in his delicate little system..my cat's was 2-3 little hard balls before this week. now it's getting back to normal...Make sure you take care of this or it will progress to belly licking and rash and hair loss...making it miserable for the kitty...While he is still a kitten you may want to try and feed him the good kitty food..Hyperallergenic formula for kittens..i wish i had done that for my boy..i wouldnt be dealing with his situation now..(the vet hasnt ruled out food allergies) very common and VERY COSTLY!) Good luck with your kitten and I hope you get this post!

if she's not fixed she could be in heat. Cats in heat usually will put theit head on the ground and their but in the air and meow really weirdly. It would probably be a good idea to call a vet though.

She's definitely not comfortable. If its the abdomen area - it could be anything from just stomach pain to liver enlarged/spleen etc. Observe her - if she's otherwise active and appetite is ok, then u can afford to wait a bit to see if it will go away. But if she looks worse, (stops eating, inactive, vomits, diarrhea etc) - you should take her to your vet.

Your cat miiiiiiiiiiiight have gotten kicked, or hit, or slammed accidently in the stomach. Wait another day, and if the strange activity continues, see a doctor or a vet. It should go away.

Definately keep your eye on her!!!

Has she been pooping? Maybe she's constipated.

Watch her posture in the litter box. Does she sit differently? Like she's slouching or straining?
