Your Question:What do you think we can do to stop illegal immigration?
Rick:Enforce workplace enviroments on two levels1) by federal officials 2)Through an expanded RICO statue (which to a level exists but is being put through court as to how applicable it is). This would work by giving lawyers the ability to sue companies that hire illegals based on federal statues.
Refer to Japan and the Swiss. They do the above and it's highly successful.
Also tell banks they can not loan or service illegal immigrants.
You: Would you support making the immigration process easier?
Rick:For educated individuals (preferable 22-30 years of age), yes. As many Doctors, Scientists, Teachers,....anyone we demonstrate a real need for. No on 'Chain Immigration' or the lottery.
This would make the immigration process more diverse than it is now ie latin america wouldn't dominate it. I'm sure we'd get a lot more people from China, Japan, Africa, and Europe. Right now, I believe it's far too bias, and not in the self-interest of America/Americans.
You:If we increased the number of legal immigrants, the number of illegal immigrants would decrease?
Rick:Yes, and no....depends on Latin America trends. We had a few spikes of immigration from Europe, but we didn't have the sort of consistant number we have from Latin America. Part of the reason for such is simple...we had World War II, and we beat Germany, so we essentially had a huge political influence in stabilizing the European economy; thus flushing out as much negative philosophy as we could.
Unfortunately, Central and South America has adopt Eastern European philosophy, which is promdominately impractical and too far idealistic. It's safe to say, we can't invade those areas and we wouldn't want to...but on the other hand, the philosophical leanings of that region of the world is in heavy need of the Enlightenment.
If those economies/governments fail to move the masses to a more moderate sane view on economic/philosophy, those countries will continuely increase upon their poverty and misery, and they'll continuely wish to come here.
It's a cultural thing. Any country can turn itself around if the culture is practical and sensible principled.

Illegal immigration won't be taken seriously until a terrorist sneaks in and completes an act of terror. Everyone knew since Locherbie that more security was needed on airplanes, flights to and from England already had tighter security. But without the disaters of 9/11 NOBODY would have consented to the scrutiny passengers and luggage go through now.
Can you imagine pre-9/11 if you were told you had to take your shoes off prior to boarding, or if you couldn't lock your suitcases. Air passenger would be up in arms and there would have been a revolt.
Once a terror act occurs due to a border breech congress will authorize enough money to take the steps necessary to secure the border. And accomodations will be made to facilitate immigration because for the last century immigration and immigrants have been vital to the economy.

If we took just half of the money that's being spent supporting illegal aliens in this country we could seal off the borders without a hitch. The immigration process should not be made easier. It is the way it is for a reason, and that's to control who enters the country. Breaking the law by entering illegally is reason enough for me to keep a person out of the country. They obviously have no respect for our laws. Guest worker programs should be allowed as the agriculture industry needs it, but careful and thorough monitoring has to be in place. And I do not think increasing the amount of legal immigrants is a good idea, unless they brought viable skills to the workforce. They would then enhance the workforce, not drive the wages down due to huge numbers of unskilled workers. Thanks for letting me express my views. I try to keep it nice unless somebody gets stupid, which unfortunately is fairly often. Have a nice day!

The easiest and fastest way to stop illegal immigration is to do the following:
1) Impose Harsh Punishments to Companies/Individuals that hire illegal immigrants (whether they know they are or not).
2) Do not permit illegal immigrants to join SSI or Welfare or take part in any other tax based social program (that includes public schools).
3) Expedite deportation. All illegals are not Mexican, so they can't all be shipped back to Mexico, so we have to find a faster more efficient way to move the others out of this country.
The first two of these three make this country unappealing to immigrants. If they can't work...they can't provide for themselves or their families. Number two takes away any other means of supporting themselves. Why come to a country that you cannot do anything in, except get caught and sent home? Waste of time.

Canada has a more porous border with the US than Mexico but we do not have that problem. What we are seeing about illegal aliens from Mexico is only the symptom of something else....the disparity of income and wealth between the two countries. Canadian can fine a decent job in their own country but a lot of Mexicans cannot. Until that is fixed, the problem will persist. While the US cannot fix Mexico's own problem, having a guest worker program may make illegal immigration less tempting or even unnecessary. It will provide the US with needed worker to fill low paying jobs which the US citizens do not want.

Close the border.... military occupied with orders to shoot to kill if necessary......
Five years in prison for those who employ illegal aliens.
We can stop putting pretty names on ILLEGAL ALIENS.....
I would not support making it easier.... they just walk in as it is.
Mexico has shown that it will continue to flood the USA with ILLEGAL ALIENS no matter what. These "slaves" steal money from the USA and send it to Mexico where it ends up in the hands/pockets of the Castilian ruling class...
When illegal aliens are called criminals.... it is not bashing, it is not racism..... it is the TRUTH.... and sometimes the truth sounds mean, but it is still the truth.
The illegal aliens are criminals, they do not belong here.
All legal immigration should be halted for five years while this country concentrates on closing the border, then finding all illegal aliens and their children, and DEPORTING them back to their countries of origin. No Amnesty, no birthright citizenship to children of illegal aliens.
Well over 80% of Americans want illegal aliens OUT and the border closed.... WHY isn't our corrupt Congress acting..... Why?
There is nothing for them to debate... the laws are already on the books..... why aren't they being enforced? CORRUPTION is why.

Well, yeah, common sense says if you make illegal immigrants legal, then the number of illegal immigrants would decrease.
The USA needs to STOP immigration in it's tracks until we can get rid of all the illegal immigrants in our country. DEPORT illegal immigrants. CLOSE our border and MILITARIZE it. Once we get control, then allow a small number of LEGAL immigrants into our country. WE DO NOT NEED MORE IMMIGRANTS!! WE DO NOT NEED TO LEGALIZE THOSE ALREADY HERE!! THEY SHOULD NOT GET A JUMP IN LINE IN FRONT OF THOSE WHO WENT THROUGH THE PROPER PROCEDURES!!! THAT IS NOT FAIR TO THEM OR THE AMERICAN CITIZENS!!! THE IMMIGRATON PROCESS IS NOT MADE EASY FOR A REASON!!! WE DON'T WANT TO MAKE IT EASY FOR PEOPLE FROM OTHER COUNTRIES TO BECOME LEGAL IMMIGRANTS!! THAT IS HOW WE CAN CONTROL IMMIGRATION!!
Why should illegal immigrants a/k/a CRIMINALS, LAWBREAKERS, be GIVEN amnesty or anything else? We don't intend on being MEAN, but isn't it MEAN of people to come here and suck billions of dollars from federally funded programs that the LEGAL American citizens FUNDED through our taxes for many generations? Programs set up for the exclusive use of USA citizens when they qualified for them? THAT is MEAN!!! Illegal immigrants are stealing from the American citizens!!! THEY ARE "MEAN" AS YOU CALL IT!!! People like you are ignorant and you are a traitor to the TRUE American people and a traitor to this country, The United States of America!! Get legal or GET OUT!!!

Fine the Employers...law in place to do that already... Enforcement!
No to your second Q. Third....your opinion is ridiculous on immigration. WHAT...Just raise the quota so we can have fewer people breaking the law? We are now full UP with OTM's and people from pretty much all over the world who want to be here. These folks, no matter where they come from need to stand in line just like my relatives did! Not justify their existence by saying " They want a better life". Do it legally!
I agree about bashing! Most of us are OK!

Make it too easy and you have mass migration worse than it is now and before long you are back to the same problem that India and China have, too much population for the size of the country. It is not that hard now if you do it the legal way. The illegal ones coming over now just don't want to go by our laws but want a free lunch. With the promise of amnesty, why not come on over now as long and as fast as you can as you will become a citizen that way anyway and then you can do even more crime. If they want to do it legally, let them in and maybe even streamline it some but don't make it too easy or you will have it worse than it is now. For those that don't want to do it legally, ban them from ever being in this country and put in some electronic device that will stay with them till the day they die.

Increasing border patrol would have less illegal immigrants coming into the United States...I don't really think if we made more of them legal the illegal ones would decrease in number. I think it would be the opposite, they would realize that a larger ammount of illegals are getting sworn in as citizens and would only encourage them to come and pursue a better life in the US.
