i cant really tell if someone has extentions unless there hair is reeeaallly nice, or if the had short hair, then it got long

First of all, why do you care? And, that is not true that extensions always look fake. My daughter gets them, (french braided) and woman who does them always does a beautiful job.

Don't you have anything more important to ask about? Even if someones' extensions DO look fake, that has nothing to do with you.

Usually they mix the extensions in with the original hairstyle. So you will see shorter layers. Also depends if they are glued in sections or pinched in smaller sections with the metal clamps.

Usually if a woman has short hair one day and them comes in with braids of red, blue and black hair you have a good idea that they are extentions...

It will look like the hair is layered really unnormally and maybe even look like a wig.

The roots are really thick, the side of their head is nappier than the rest of the head (like above the side of their fore head), the ends of their hair is really shiny/look like plastic

if you feel it, it feels like horse hair, very dry and thin
