You two just got brought up different ways. Her family either didn't show affection or just did in different ways. Completly normal btw.

That is not weird at all - what is does show is that your wife was raised differently in her family - not as much affection perhaps.

My bf thinks I am weird cause I talk to my mom &/or dad a few times a day but that is just how I am. I also hug both of them - I am 28. He wasn't raised with that much affection and they still are not that close but eve nhe hugs his mom & dad when we see them and when we leave.

Not weird at all - why would she say that?? A kid is never to old to show affection to their parents - hug, kiss on cheek, call, write -do things for them - whatever it may be. Friends kiss each other hi and hug hi - men and men, women and women, men and women - so why would your mom be any different?

I think its wonderful to hug your parents. I am a 47 year old grandmother and I still hug my parents every time I see them and every time I leave. Maybe your wife never had an affectionate relationship with her parents. Maybe you can sit and tell your wife that hugging is food for the soul and maybe she should do it more often, then give her a great big hug!!! She doesn't know how lucky she is!

I am 53 and I still give hugs to my mom. You are never too old to show affection to your parents. Remember, we are still there kids no matter how old we are. My son is 31 and when we see eachother we hug and kiss. He is my son, I so the same with my daughters. I love em.
Tell your wife to join in on the affection.

weird? so r u supposed 2 b colder with ur parents the older u become? these r ur parents... u shud show them how much they mean to u in any way and in anytime... now more than b4. they're getting older, and u need to give them all the love u can... like they did with when u were growing up. ure treated by ur kids when u grow up just the same as u treated ur parents... its God's way of vindicating them... if u have kids, ask ur wife how she wud feel if suddenly ur kids stopped hugging her or showing her any significant signs of affection... after all she did raising them, they stop being warm and loving... heartbroken wud b an understatement. never stop showing ur parents just how much u love and appreciate them... no word can describe how they feel when u hug them... make ur parents happy... make ur parents proud

i think its great......my mom and I do not really get along and even though we talk often, there is always tension there. I haven't hugged her or shared an "I love you" with her in over 7 years. Its sad and sometimes, I just wish we were alot closer. I know I should be the one to lean over and hug her to try to get things started but I'm just not brave enough. Keep hugging your parents, They have known you longer than anybody else and have loved you with the greatest love possible.

I agree life is to short. Now if you let your mother make all your decisions for you even though you are 29, thats when your wife should think its weird.

Hug her parents. She'll think that is really weird.

That is just the difference of your family and hers.
