I've noticed a couple of people recommending Robinson -- and I was wondering if you are just satisfied users or reps for the company. If you are a satisfied costomer, would you state a couple of reasons?

If you are a rep, would you please email me?

Thanks.

I am a satisfied user.
Reason #1
It has been a great resource and method.
Reason #2
My children do very well with it.

I am not a rep. for any company. Although I have attempted my own little sales venture in my area. Internet sales are solely the ownership of the software producer and I get nothing. People tend to buy direct and aren't that interested in seeing it locally so I'm not getting anywhere with that.

I love homeschooling and I love the self-teaching method. I'd rather encourage people in both. It isn't difficult to try and follow the simple outline of the method and that is what I am hoping that people will want to try.

Even though I am a christian home schooler and RC was put together by a christian home school family it does not negate the fact that the method is perfectly usable by secular home schoolers. I know of a few that use RC successfully.

Also --- the reading material is secondary to the method. Yes, many of the books are available in libraries and online for free on the internet. The issue at hand is the purpose and plan of self-teaching. And there are quite a few books on the disks that are not available for free in any format. The Course of Study is the keystone to the curriculum.

It is such a quandary for me at times...... non-christian friends say, "I won't use RC because it is christian", and christian friends say, "I won't use RC because it is secular". LOL. So, unless either stops to look at it and realizes it's value -- neither will use it. I'm certainly HAPPY that my children have RC. It is a wonderful academic foundation.

I often say this to people: In this world I am weird first because I'm a christian. Among christians I am weird because I home school. And among home schoolers I am weird because I use the Robinson Curriculum. Well, among RC users I am weird well, just because.

Know what? It doesn't matter. I love being a christian, I love home schooling and I love the Robinson Curriculum.

It is not recommended if you are a secular homeschooler. Much of the reading material that you pay for on their CD's is available for free at your local library.

If you like the classical literature aspect of RC then try My Schoolroom. http://www.myschoolroom.net
