he doesnt seem to mind other species breeding outside of marriage. I mean what is marriage anyway. Isnt it just a legal ceremony conducted by humans? Were adam and eve married? If adam and eve were married than they were married by god? If they were married by god - why shouldnt other humans be married by god - it would certainly be cheaper. Wouldnt the money it costs to get married be better spent on feeding the starving in the world?

Who said marriage was important to God? Did anyone phone him recently?
Marriage is a form of social control invented by humans!
God has nothing to do with it.
Imagine, if you will, the times of long, long ago.
Villages. Women and young children live together.Adult girl children stay there too.
Men and adolescent boys live on the outskirts. The boys are sent to live with the men after an adoloscent ceremony .... they can't return to the village until thgeir coming-of-age ceremony.
Their job is to protect, but the womenfolk aren't sissies either; they can protect themselves if crunch comes to grind..
Every once in a while, perhaps on the Full Moon Night, the men and women party together. The women choose the man they intend to mate with and they go and spend the night together. The woman may choose a preferred man she has already had children with, or she may choose a completely new man.
As this is for the purpose of procreation, the chosen men are quite happy with the rules.
Spice of life, eh?
So simple, so solid and so easy!
But the powers that began to rule found it all very nasty and so marriage was invented, whether for economical reasons, or whatever.
So actually, marriage is going against God, and against purity.
If Life really is a spiral, which I believe it is, we are slowly heading back to sanity.
Alleluja the day when Marriage is extinct!

Look, Societies are formed by social, cultural and family values... Marriage is not just a mean of allowing two people to have sex.... its far more than that... A family is formed when two people marry with each other, respect each other, they then become parents, have children, they care for them, the men worked hard to earn for the family, and take good care of the children, educate them.. teach them what is good and bad.... and when they are mature enough, make them marry with others... A family is not just a word it is like a string that tie members together.... Though its not physical, but its more than a moral and legal binding... and in this manner societes and cultures are developed... Marriage brings a sense of responsibility to humans...they have to abide by certain rules and regulations... If marriages are not kept, we human beings are like animals living in a jungle, where no laws and no rules exists....
Family emerges only due to marriage....and from a group of families, societies develop.. and then cullture and so on...
That is why, marriages are so important to God....

Take care,

Adam & Eve only had each other. Couldn't cheat on each other or anything. :) They were much more innocent than people today anyway.

Marriage is a committment, made before God and witnesses. People today need to make their committment public before witnesses, because so few people care that God watches everything and is the Ultimate Witness (to cheating, flirting, and anything at all that could harm your spouse).

Many people agree with you about not spending thousands of dollars for a wedding; you should use it for something responsible or charity as you say. That is why some people just do a modest gathering in the home or simply do it before the judge.

And I don't really think that God's laws are so much about what's so important to Him; I think they're more about what's best for us. He created us, after all, so I would trust that He knows what is best for our body and mind.

Marriage is not important to God. In Heaven there is no marriage. Marriage has been important to women, as it has protected their rights and the rights of their children. Look at Henry the 8th of England! Today, it still protects their rights internationally, as lovers of different nationalities have a better chance of not being separated by their respective governments if they are married. It's useful in protecting the legal rights of both sexes. That's why gays and lesbians want marriage. Marriage is actually very cheap, it's dresses and receptions that are expensive.

Because he knew that man would lust , so he made women, for men to have sex with, and he told them to be fruitful and multiply, its also a stress reducer, he said it was better to marry, then to burn. Eve was made from adams rib, so she was created just for Adam, But they did have marriage cerimonies In the old testiment.as far as having a big wedding where you spend a lot of money, thats up to the ones getting married, I think they would be better off saving money for the divorce though, seems like more marriages are ending in divorce these days. and to think, it was suppose to be, till death do we part.

Because there is no god.

Because the people who devised the Bible realised that a culture is more stable if there is less 'playing about' therefore the invention of marrige.

Of course the "Marrage is gods will" ploy keeps this in place.

Since te bibles creators don't give a damm if, say snails are unfaithful the law was never extended beyone humans

I don't think that God requires us to be married, in fact, Jesus even said that a wise man should not get married, and hey, look at Abraham, he had lots of concubines. And as far as the rules to sex go, get a King James version of the Bible, and start reading in Leviticous chapter 20 &21. Read all of the verses, never have I read in the Bible where it says that it's a sin to have sex if you're not married. However, it did say that adultry is a sin, which is having sex while you're married, or to someone else who is married. Getting married or not is your choice, or at least according to what I've read in the Bible.

God ordained marriage and united Adam and Eve for time and all eternity before their fall in the Garden of Eden.

He also ordained procreation within the marriage--not to cohabit, shack-up, or being engaged and bring children into the world. There is a reason for all this and God has His plans.

Marriage is a ritual by man.
In the site of God, when a man and woman decides to unite for a life together, they are husband and wife.

If the world accepts this, one another problem also is solved. There is no premarital sex thereafter.

Marriage is a God created covenant relationship.Your questions are many but very relevant. It was never meant to be secular institution.Again because if sin suggested from the devil, man is dictated by the world.its lusts of the of the flesh and the lies of the devil so that they can fornicate and commit adultery.Everybody who decides to have a christian marriage is married by a Man of God i.e pastor etc.(appointed by God)

And the amount you decide to spend on your wedding is entirely up to you
