This cat wandered to our back door a few days ago. I'm not sure but I think it's a girl. She's black, brown(or red) and white. She meows all the time. She is also really adorable. She's not shy, and she lets me pick her up sometimes. What should I name her? Also, names that are good for boy and girl cats would work too.

There are various websites that list cat or other pets names - some of them including popularity statistics, name meanings, etc.

A couple of them are: http://www.greatcatnames.com/, http://www.cat-names.us/, http://www.kittynames.com/.

As an added note, check out a search engine called Goodsearch.com. Every time you use it a small donation ($.01) goes to a charity of your choice. There are many animal shelters on the list so you can choose one in your area or somewhere that really needs help (i.e. New Orleans, Biloxi). It doesn't cost you anything and it's powered by Yahoo! Search.

Congratulations on becoming a new cat parent. My boy, Kato "Boo" is unforttunately going to sleep this Monday. He's 11 & a Half and has a neurological disorder. I've had him since birth and it's killing me to lose him. I hope you have many happy years with your new cat.
P.S. Keep him or her indoors and "Boo" is a pretty good name
