Cabin baggage MUST NOT contain:

* Any cosmetics
* Any toiletries
* Any liquids
* Any drinks
* Cigarette lighters (Cigarette lighters may not be checked into the hold. They can be purchased airside and disposed of before boarding a flight)

Items previously prohibited in cabin baggage, such as sharp objects, should not be carried onboard.

Cabin baggage CAN contain the following:

* Electronic equipment, including laptops, mobile phones, digital cameras and portable music and DVD players
* Essential medicines in liquid form provided they are under 50ml. Customers will be asked to taste the liquid. If they cannot taste the liquid for any reason they will be asked to go to an airport pharmacy to have the medicine verified.
* Baby milk and liquid baby food (the contents of each bottle MUST be tasted by the parent)

This is from Britishairways.com! It only applies to CABIN BAGGAGE (ie. carry ons) so you can check in the liquids.

It applies to only carry on luggage, but they do check alot of the liquids in checked luggage. A college student had liquid explosives in his checked bag of luggage last week. They do random screening on such items, in fact all bags and they have dont that since 9/11. Liquids, gels, creams, lotions, perfumes, ect are just another add to the list.

you are allowed liquids bought from duty free if unopened i heard on the news but the safest way to find out is to look on teletext or phone the airport to find out exactly what is and is not allowed

No additional restrictions on what you can pack in checked baggage, except that cigarette lighters are not permitted on flights to the US.
