The one thing that bothers me today is how people use religion to descriminate against people. I think it's wrong how some churches kicked out gays, simply because there being what nature intended them to be. People say that there going against god, even though they are naturally that way ( homosexuality is not a choice and it's been proven), and people use small phrases out of the bible to bash them, and people take out phrases out of the bible with out doing any historical research on them to understand what they really mean. And some religious people also think it's wrong for women to have a high power in the church. Why must some religious people descriminate other people?

I've been reading some of the answers and People keep on saying homosexuality is a choice, one thing who would choose a life that is so depressing.

Because, in general, men have held positions of power in religion. Straight men. And women and homosexuals threaten their power.

You've Got a very good point. According to the Bible sin is sin is sin.but I can understand. There is no difference between an alcoholic or someone who lied any time in their life. The wages of sin is death, but when the alcoholic gets saved , he is no longer an alcoholic. It is not the same for homosexuals. personally , I have no problem with them but I didn't make the rules. I also understand that they have no choice nor do I witness to them and pray for them to change. They are what they are. Free to come to church , But while in church not to be a spectacle.

In reference to women , again not my rules. 1 Timothy 9 to 15 forbid a women to teach or usurp the authority of man.

Moses had once said God wasn't fair, God answered, I will save who I will.

There is no man or woman that deserves salvation, it is the gift of God. I can not say it is not sinful to be gay because it's politically correct. I truly wish it were different.

We do not discriminate but rightly divide the word of truth.

We can not pic and choose what we like , we must embrace the whole word of God.

I am sorry.

What makes you think that we condemn the people?

We don't... but we will not accept a sinful lifestyle... no matter what kind that it is.

Your arguing more of your oppinion than fact...

Homosexuality is not inherited... because gays can't pass DNA down to their children.

It is a phychological thing... usually impossed upon them when they are children or in a feeling of rejection from the opposite sex....

So it may be a chioce or just all that they know from when they were a child...

it all depends what you expose a child to...

I don't hate gays by no means.... I don't approve of their lifestyle... because the Bible calls it a sin...

any sinful lifestyle is wrong... you can justify it all you want... it may "feel" right to you... but then again... any sin of any kind appears to be good...

Love the sinner hate the sin...

That is what Jesus did... I'm glad, because I'm a sinner...

Glad that Jesus died for all sinners and not just some...

I must chance my lifestyle into a more CHrist-like one... and gays, adulterers, theifs, and any other sinner that comes to Christ has to do the same...

God bless you and yours...

I am a Christian... are you surprised?

Because they love any excuse to justify their narrow-minded, bigoted ways. And the bible gives them plenty of that, although they are very selective with their hatred.

How many Christians do you hear about who go around spewing hatred for overweight people? If that was the case, then Rev. John Hagee and Rev. Jerry Falwell (and countless others) would have no support! There is only so far that this "do as I say and not as I do" stuff can go.

Because they view homosexuality as against the order of nature and God's teachings. Where did you get that homosexuality is not a choice preference? And the churches didn't allow women to be priests; or be in power.

The King James version of the Bible speaks out very explicitly in Leviticous, starting in chapter 20 about what is acceptable sexually and what is not acceptable. It staes very explicitly that a man shall not lay with another man. It says that a man shall not sleep with his sister or mother. It says that a man shall not lay with a woman when she's on her period. It says that a man shall not lay with another mans wife and so on and so forth. Anyhow, homosexuallity is not natural, it is wrong and it is against Gods will, of chourse so are alot of other thing that many of theese so called christians do every day, for e..g heres one for you, judge not lest ye be jusdged. If you want to be gay, that's your choice, I'm just informing you on what the Bible says about the subject.

It is just plain ignorance. The bible is a book written by men, not God. Sin and hell are words from the imagination of men. They are not of God. There is no explaining that the contradictions are more than proof that this book is in no way about God. Most of these people are so brainwashed and programmed from years of hate drilled into them that they are incapable of rational thought in regards to religion. Unfortunately, they are perpetuating their hate filled lies by teaching it to their children. We can hope that when these children grow up that they will be capable of making their own decisions based on common sense and compassion.

It is human nature to hate and separate people based on SOMETHING. Religion exploits that natural tendency. Its always easy to point at someone and say "Your wrong and I'm right!" and if you have a Holy Book to back you up?? Oh boy, then you MUST be right!!
Organized religion is about controlling the masses and it does it very very well. But then again, the masses WANT to be controlled.
It's much harder to be forgiving and tolerant of others.

Goddess Bless!

Christianity has been the basis for much of western society's moral compass. It entails a WHOLE LOT of anti-woman crap. I've looked at some stuff and there are more rights granted to women in Islam than those within Christianity. Askmuslims.com had a list of the stuff.

Very easy question, just because, the most important thing at least in the catholic churh is the family, and they want us..men and woman to reproduce, so just imagine if oll the entire world of human beeing become GAY, we will break the family and reproduccion too. thas why they dont like gay people because they brake the rules.
