We just got 2 kittens (5 mo. and 10 mo.) from the humane society last Sunday. Since then, they've both developed symptoms of URI--nasal congestion and discharge, sneezing, wheezing, etc. Their first vet appointment isn't until friday, and because of the holiday weekend, the office is closed until Tuesday. Is there anything I can do over the weekend to help them until I can call the vet on Tuesday? How life threatening is this??

If they are eating and drinking, they should be fine. If they get really stopped up, take them into the bathroom and run the shower on hot. The steam should help. If they get worse, call the Humane Society on Tuesday and tell them what is going on. They may have a vet that can see them sooner. They picked up the URI from the shelter anyway!!

just keep an eye on them. wipe their eyes and their nose. bring them into the shower with you when you shower and let the hot water run after you are done it will help to loosen up the gunk.
