The saying isn't myth, but it isn't about family either... Its about stats that when a baby is born, someone dies... and was very true... when they had the stats, that they could actually calculate the babies being born, and the deaths, when the saying was made... it was pretty much equal... that's when the saying came about, *when a baby is born hes taking the place of some one that has passed*... not in family... just life general... but the stats were made way back... have been many yrs that babies were actually 2-1 on the passing... those from that era were called the baby boomers... now in our era, it really fluctuates... but still at normal, in the times going by... "baby born... someone passes"... equals out over a couple yrs

It does not pertain to family members.
It is, for every baby that is born there is someone else out there that dies.
It is called the cycle of life.
But I believe that it is not necessarily true.

that doesnt make scence at all unless you are talking about someone else dying in another family then well yea. but one member of a faimly being born and another member dying is just idiotic. just truly think about that.

it is true for big families lke mine becuse my grandpa had about 27 kids with 6 wives and my other grandpa had 31 kids with 8 wives and all them had about 3-4 of there own kids so in my case that is true.
Ps back in Iran that was not uncommen because we were at war with iraq and most of the kids would die young, but all the kids i said are still alive

Not my Family! Were expanding like locust! Every time I turn around there are more of us. All the old timers are gone too, this could be the beginning of a nation of us. My good God when I think of it, we are many!

It doesn't necessary work that way. But in general, it means that when a new baby is born an old person is dying. It's life!

Using this theory, the population would never change. Since the population seems to be increasing everyday, you question is false.
