It's not a matter of pleasing him. To a dog, there are leaders and followers, never equals. Your dog has decided he is the pack leader, and he is disrespecting you. It is IMPERATIVE that you assert your authority, and among other things, take ownership of your bed.

Check out Cesar Millan. He has a show on the National Geographic Channel called "The Dog Whisperer". He also has some books out that explain his technique.

Hello, it seems your bullmastiff misses you and is a very nervous dog when not chaperoned. I suggest you look online for a toy or bed that has mothers heartbeat in it....It will comfort him and make him feel a little more bit comfortable....Play the radio or make a voice recording of you saying something to him and make him a big spot full of toys and other stuff so he feels comforted by his "friends". Trust me when I leave the house I put on my old Video Now for him and it lasts about an hour....Its not long but it'll last him.Trust me,no jokes gaurenteed...but if this dosent work try looking online for ways to soothe your dog....My dog gets excited and one time he pooed on the rug and tinkeled...But he just has to be not so riled up. Try locking your bedroom door(and if your room only has a doorframe try putting up a gate that keeps dogs out of certain places.)

Crate the dog. He is anxious because you are gone. If he has a safe spot to be in, he won't poo on your bed. He won't poo where he eats or sleeps.

Just put the old dog out side when your gone,he'll do his business out side, next time do the same thing. He'll leave a pill here and there,The next time he will go to one of his spots and do his business, just takes him a little time to learn what to do??

Go to Amazon, look up The Dog Whisperer. Boy it and follow instructions. Most dog problems are really people problems, mainly the owner. You change your behavior and the dog will change his. Trust me. Mr Millan (TDW) is on TV every week, look him up. He does wonders with dogs AND their owners.

maybe its not out of spite maybe he isnt trained well.. or properly

leaving newspaper out confuses dogs - dont do it...

make sure he gets walked before you leave- dogs poop after or durring excercise

crate him when you are out

feed a better quality food - better food = less filler = less poops

close the door to your bedroom or crate him. he is probably mad that you are leaving and showing his anger by doing this to your bed.
