Motor SGT David means that he is an E-5 and he has a Motor Sergeant position which means that there isn't an E-6 or an E-7 to cover that position, he is probably the one who has the highest rank in the unit BUT if an E-6 or an E-7 came to that unit, he will have to be released of that duty because E-6 an E-7 arrank him. A motor sergeant is the one who runs the motor pool in the unit, like a mechanic. an E-5 happens to be a Sergeant E-6 Staff Sergeant and E-7 Sergeant First Class.

Not all three. He can be a SFC or a SSG, but not both. An SFC is the next rank up from a SSG. A motor SGT is the person that runs the motor pool and they are usually a SFC.

SFC - Sergeant First Class E7, SSG - Staff Sergeant E6,
Motor Sgt is not a rank but it can either be a SSG or SFC.
Not both!!! There is only one rank per person, SSG E6 is one rank and SFC E7 is another different rank. The Motor
SGT is actually where he works and is his title and is not a rank. The other rank is SGT E5.

Sergeant First Class or SFC is E-7
Staff Sergeant or SSG is E-6
A motor sgt is a designated position for an NCO, who is practically the platoon sergeant for the motor pool soldiers. A battalion motor sergeant is in charge of all the enlisted in the motor pool.

Easy.

SFC=Sergeant First Class E7; SSG=Staff Sergeant E6; SGT=Sergeant E5.

Motor sergeants can be E5s, E6s, or E7s--depending on the size of the unit.
