Where can a guy with bad credit get financed for new furniture?

Coming from someone who previously had poor credit but who is now finally out of the red, I would suggest that you check your local paper first thing tommorrow morning and see if there is anyone selling furniture or sometimes you can find very nice furniture at some of the local consignment shops. That is what I did when I first moved into my apartment 2 years ago. A final suggestion is to check with friends, families, or coworkers sometimes they may be selling something that you could use. I did this and lucked out nicely! Please remember this: Places like rent a center are in business to make money off of people with poor or no credit history as was mentioned which is why they are soo successful. Good Luck!!!

I think you're going to discover that it's not that you can't get the financing at all, but that you can't get financing with 'good' terms. A person with bad credit is regarded as a higher risk, so they are the ones that have fewer options, and have to take the high interest rates and more rigid terms. There are alot of businesses out there that are set up to deliver a service to those with bad credit or no credit, but even for you it will be a high risk to deal with these companies.

If your credit is already bad, don't buy furniture on credit. That will just make your situation a lot worse. Buy a little bit of furniture that you can afford outright, even if you have to go to yard sales and thrift shops for your initial purchases, and save up money to little by little upgrade to nicer stuff. You may be a little disappointed now but you'll be much happier in the long run because your credit score will gradually come up and you'll be able to get financing on something that is really worth putting on credit, like a car or a house. Add furniture payments to your already bad credit and it'll be a very, very long time before you can ever get a mortgage!

How the heck do you young people get into this kind of emotional mess?? Why do you think it is better to have illegitimate children rather than be married. Why are you taking on all the debt and financial responsibility for this man. If he will pay the note, then let him negotiate with a lender. How do some guy,s get lucky and find ladies like you that are prepared to finance him through life. Lady I am telling you as an old lawyer who has seen and heard most things in my life, that you are setting yourself up for a disaster. Before you do anything else for this guy you get the legal protection of marriage, and before all you all you tree hugging modernist start beating on me, that is the only way this lady is going to protect her child's financial future. I am not moralising ,just telling you how it is. If it is not possible for you to be married, then think very, very, very long and hard about where your future lays and if you decide it is with this man, so be it. But do not be signing anything for him that you cant pay if the crunch comes. My experience of life and through my business tells me that this is not a permanent relationship. Be very cautious, and protect your child's financial future, and your own. I see that you have added that you are "scared" to get married and that you have even mentioned the D word So even at this time of writing you do not feel all that secure in the relationship.Proves my point, sign nothing!!!

Try Rent-a-Center. They seem to cater to those with bad credit. A word of warning-- expect to pay about twice what the furniture is worth in the end with all the interest and fees they tack on. You'd be better off saving your money for six months to just buy the stuff outright.

You should try garage sales. You can sometimes get very nice things there; people often just remodel and sell their used furniture very cheaply. The last thing you need, if you already have bad credit, is to borrow money from some high-interest place and make it all worse.

You are why places like Rent a Center make a fortune. People with bad credit pay way more than people with good credit. the best thing to do is clean up your credit.

If you have bad credit you don't need new furniture, especially financed furniture. You have more financial responsibility to learn before you can be trusted with credit.
