I used to be a flight attendant-- who was scared of flying. Listen, it really is the safest way to travel-- I've felt less safe in my car than in an airplane over which I have no control. I flew as a Flight attendant for years and not one thing happened. Is thier turbelance-- yep, but It isn't dangerous.. I promise..

That said-- I know you could care less. So, I suggest a book... I do not remember the Authors name, but it is titled FROM TAKEOFF TO LANDING-- basically the book outlines the sounds, movements, and what happens on every routine (and not routine plane flight) I think if you know the sounds and can identify what is going on-- you will be a good deal happier and relaxed.

If that doesn't work-- try meditation, acupuncture, or a therapist--

I have to fly too and I hate it. My problem is not turbulence but landing. When the engine starts to power down as we descend I totally freak out. I have asked the doctor for xanax for the flight and hopefully that is going to help. Good luck to you!

I don't know..I worked for a major international airline for 31 years ...and for about the first 17 years even with free passes I didn't go anywhere....Now I'm sort of over it..and I just go...but I absolutley hate turbulence...but watch the flight attendants..if they're not frightened..then you're ok.

Id have to put almost sedated into a coma before id get on a plane now so i understand.I would see if Dr would perscribe a nerve pill before leaving..that's only way i could do it.

Try being concern for other people rather than self. A good faith in God will also help,it doesn't mean that nothing will happen but while the teariest want to kill us all If I die I want to do good.
