Thats right, not exactly a chip get a hypertech power programmer they are the best. You get to decide what to program, like top speed, what octane fuel you want to run with it and how hard you want your trans to shift, hypertech.com about 400bucks, stay away from the cheaper stuff itll wind up costing you more

You should start watching Spike T.V. on Saturdays or Sundays in the afternoon. There are 3 or 4 Car and Truck related shows and they talk about EVERYTHING. Off the top of my head I would say that you could buy a unit to "re-program" your current chip and adjust many different settings in your engine and transmission. That same unit will store your stock settings in case you want to "restore" them. Hypertech is the name of ONE company that makes an EEPRoM reprogrammer. I put the link along with this message.

i own a repair shop,,and maybe this will help,,a chip in the computer controls the way you truck runs now,,it also help,s govern it,,a performance chip,,is programmed to make all the functions of your truck work faster,,and more accurate,,it will make the shift of the transmission,a lot better and faster,,it also beefs up the ignition timing,,which also helps govern the running condition of the truck,,adding a performance chip,,will actually make everything work better and faster, and it will allow for better performance,,as well as some better fuel economy,,but fuel economy all depends on how you drive it,,good luck with it,,i hope this help,s.
