Let them finish speaking and then pause for an extended time. Start your next sentence with" Oh, I was just waiting for you to finish your sentence so I didn't interrupt you. They will most likely give you the same respect as your conversation continues. I have tried this with my child, she got the hint...

I try joking it off, saying something like "I may have to duct tape your mouth if you interrupt me one more time." I've found that many people will laugh at this, because they don't think I'm serious when I say it.

Another thing you can do is just politely wait until that person is finished talking, then say what you need to say. You will look like the much bigger person.

I usually don't, but this past spring I had to deal with the most interrupting woman I ever met in my life. I had to deal with her on a daily basis for about three months. Finally, I just told her that she was misconstruing what I had to say, because she never let me finish what I was saying. She admitted she had a problem with interrupting and tried to do better. I appreciated her trying.

Ask, "Do you want to hear what I have to say?"

If they:
Say No - walk away or hang up the phone..
Say Yes - speak your mind and continue even if they try to interrupt.
Don't answer but continue talking- let them know when and where you'll be if they change their mind.

If you don't want them to feel attacked, make it about you. Say something like " I know this is silly, but it really bothers me when I can't finish what I'm saying when I talk to you...do you think you could try and let me finish before you talk?"

Can't do that politely... just have to interupt them and then tell them to stop interupting you. Showing works more than speaking most of the time.

I usually say something along the line of, "I wasn't finished, thank you!" or, "I would appreicate it if you would wait until I am done!" If that doesn't work, maybe just telling them to shut up is appropriate!

Stop speaking, stare at them and when they finish interrupting, walk away. Obviously they don't care to listen to you, why should you talk. They ask you "Why?", you tell them why. They'll get the message.

Just tell them to hold on a second that you are not finished. If they keep it up just tell them to STFU!

Tap them on their shoulder and say "let me finish, ok?"
