It depends on were you live, if you have a yard, what kind you want, if your getting a puppy,if your getting it from the pound, if you have kids, and have you ever had a dog before?

But I have 2 dogs and I've always had dogs. They really are a woman's best friend. Go and talk to the local pound to learn more.

Dogs aren't much trouble once they're potty trained, but puppies can be a lot of work. My dogs used to wake me up 2 or 3 times a night to potty up until they were 5 mo. old, now they are 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 and they stay sleeping til I get up in the morning.

I won't lie to you...Puppies are a lot of work and take an enormous amount of dedication and training. I currently have 2 Cocker Spaniel puppies and they are more work than my son, however I love them so much and wouldn't trade them for all the money in the world. Dogs give unconditional love!!!

They are if you don't have the time and dedication to give to them for the next 15 + years. Then yes, they are too much trouble.

If your not willing to put the time into a dog ,then don't get one. They deserve much more then to be banned to a back yard after the novelty wears off. So think long and hard about it.

Too much trouble for what? They need care, socializationand companionship, quality food and ample fresh water, regular innoculations and vet care, training and becoming familiar with your schedule....But I find it very worth the effort for the gorgeous, healthy, well mannered 24/7 devoted friend you will have for many years!Good luck!
