Because of all the inequality! ;-)
Most women wouldn't even risk the rejection. You might as well ask, how come women never open doors for guys?
Women want to have all the 'rights' of men but want to keep all of the ones they always had
Actually pretty clever. After all, who doesn't want to have their cake and eat it too (as well as someone elses).

I can understand your frustration. You explained it very well. I am 5'4" and I dated a guy that was a little over 6'6" . Besides the fact that he was a psycho, he likes shorter women because he liked to be dominant and controlling and he couldn't get that with tall women. I'm not saying all tall men are that way but I can understand what you meant by tall women intimidating them. I did always feel odd when we would be walking together. If you really like this guy that is shorter than you give him a chance. Maybe you will like him so much his height won't bother you anymore. Also this is so cliche but its true when you're not looking for love that's when it finds you.

It's simply what our culture expects of us.
Consider this, though: there are absolutely beautiful women out there who are usually only approached by idiots who have no idea how out of their league the woman is. The good guys often assume that if a woman is that attractive, she is either, A) Taken, B) All looks and no brains, C) Very aware of how attractive she is and not interested in anything less than a male model.
Unfortuately, some of these beautiful women are rarely ever told how gorgeous they are because people assume that they've heard it a million times. While good guys make assumptions and refuse to approach them, slobs, losers, idiots of all sorts do.
Take a chance, man.

Women do approach men. But, men like the chase. So, women usually sit back and let the games begin! And, women should respect how difficult it is for men to approach them and be polite if they are going to reject them :)

I do it. And they don't always get rejected and look stupid. Depending on how the ask, affects the way a woman will answer...

Hey seabass, maybe you need to go back to school Getting rejected is not an issue, unless you never go out there again. The less stupid you look, the less likely you will get rejected.

i dont know. its just one of those guy things. its rare to see a girl go up to a guy. i had a girl go to one of my friends and i got her number cuz im homie was usin my phone. its sucks we get rejected and look stupid but at lease u had da guts to do it instead of your friends layin back lookin more of an azz not doin anything. and if your approachin girls where there is alot of other girls lookin, they see dat and give you more leverage to flirt and talk to other girls......
