6 weeks is old enough. Especially if they are eating kitten food. Some mothers will feed kittens weeks/months after their kittens are old enough to give away.

I got my kitten when she was only 7 weeks because the owner lived in the country and she needed to come to the city for a meeting. I would've prefered if my little Peach to stay with her mother a little longer but the owner was only going to be in town for that day. But my kitten is now 4 months old and is just as healthy as any other kitten her age. Good Luck!

I'd say it's ok to give them away. Make sure they are drinking water as well before you do let them go. Most kittens are fine to go away from the mom between 6-8 weeks. Good luck!

If your kittens are eating and using the litter box, they are more than ready to go to new homes. Many kittens will continue to nurse as long as they are around their mothers. And this drags the mothers health down.

If you can, keep them till they are 12 weeks. At least 8 weeks. The longer you give them with their mother, the more socialized they will be and the better mother cat will handle having them gone.

Wait until the are AT LEAST 7 weeks, but 8 weeks is better. They get valuable socialization from being with the mom and littermates for the extra time.
Spay the mom ASAP, or she will be pregnant again.

It's best for the mother cat to wean them before giving them away. That is usually around 8-10 weeks.

My sugestion would be to keep the mother away from them any way you can for about 2 weeks see how they do then start to give them away

I think it is best to wait till like 8 weeks before you give them away, but I don't have a lot of knowledge on this

Kittens should not be taken from their mother BEFORE 6 weeks, another 2 weeks would be ideal.
Please consider spaying the mother cat soon to prevent any more kittens... I'll step off my soap box now.
