it depends how you add it. itunes has its own folder which you have an option to "COPY" the tracks to the itunes folder or you can source them from an outside folder, say my music folder. check out your settings in options, anything your not sure about press F1 and type in a relative word

Its possible that the file is not in mp3 or wav format. Also instead of adding individual songs to the library, try adding your music by adding the whole music folder.

Because useally the format or something was not found. It's happend to me sometimes. But if you wanna locate the song like it askes, do it. Here's how.
If you got the song from a friend, go to, 'My Received Files", find the song in there, click it, it will play.
If you downloaded it, go to "My Documents", then "Music" it should be somewhere in there.
If you ripped it from a CD, same thing, go to "My Documents" then "Music" click the album name, locate the song...click, there ya go.
