I'm a bit of a hypochondriac & fearful of STDs. I am on the pill, & we want to have unprotected sex.

It's not an issue with HIM, it's w/ anyone, I'm just afraid of catching something. I would feel this way w/ anyone, I felt this way w/ my other boyfriends also (although we didn't have unprotected sex).

I thought maybe if we get married, I would get over it, but we already live together & even then how do I know for sure he couldnt cheat 1x (which I could forgive, but not the STD!) & bring home something.

Again, it's not a trust issue, I trust him, but I just can't enjoy or relax thinking about this. He is understanding to a point but even after married I think I would be afraid to have unprotected sex, I'm just terrified of AIDS. Also I would feel guilty marching my b/f down to the clinic to be tested every 6 months (and even that is not 100% reliable) What can I do?

That's pretty much the only thing you can do to help ease your mind, get tested. You do have trust issues with him or else you wouldnt care about unprotected sex. You would need to have long talks about it with him, and I sure hopes he remains so patient and understanding.

There is nothing wrong with trying to protect yourself against any STDs...to a point when you become paranoic...you have been with your boyfriend for five years and I think he hasn't cheated on you...yet! so he should have won your trust by now....just think that you could get aids not by having sex...but what if you have to get a blood transfucion and you get aids?? or what if you have an open wound and there is someone with aids who is bleeding and you get it?? I mean.....I understand your fear but ....see Life is just a russian roullete...GOOD LUCK!!

you have each and every precise to question the undertaking, unprotected intercourse is an fantastically massive step. even even with the undeniable fact that he would possibly no longer think of you believe him get him examined. i'm able to ascertain which you're very seen appropriate to the STD's yet how approximately being pregnant, the pill does not shop you risk-free. I mean are you waiting to spend the subsequent 18 years of your existence raising your new child, even with the undeniable fact that while you're prepared to take that possibility i'm hoping you the perfect of success. - Dr. Joseph Mallon M.D.

You have been with him for 5yrs you said, and has he ever given you any reason to suspect an STD? I commend you for being responsible & careful, which is unheard of anymore! Your protecting yourself and there is nothing wrong with that. If after your married and you still "can't", talk to your Dr. In a monogomous relationship, I don't see any reason to though.

I think the probability of getting AIDS from a husband [who's been tested once before marriage] is just about zero.

what about baby? Sheesh...you could get pregnant...just keep having protected sex if you have to...but I think that if you are still worried after all this time...you will just freak yourself out if you do it without ...so be a good girl and just say NO instead until you are married lol..

dear thats why its a TRUST issue. because you simply cannot have sex w/ no protection if you dont trust the guy, its too risky.

AIDS WILL BE VERY PAINFUL.

the same thing happened to me. i cant trust him anymore after i found out some stuff ..im afraid of sleeping w/ him. he sort of disgusts me.
