My kitten loves eating Hills PD (wet food) but when they're was none left, I started feeding her Friskies wet food (she loves Friskies too because her first owner gave it to her, I knew its not good for her which is why I buy her Hills) as a backup food until I went to the vet's office to buy her some more Hills. But when I bought it she didn't want anything to do with the Hills PD stuff (which is really expenisive) and the Friskies and have started eating dry foods all the time. I think it might because she's teething. She's 4 months by the way and recently she had an eye infection which is now gone, I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the loss of appetite. Everytime I give her the Hills stuff she just sniffs it and than goes and eats the dry Hills (Science Diet) stuff, I just recently bought for her. Is she teething, does she like the new Hills Science Diet so much that she preferes that over the wet Hills PD or does it have something to do with her eye infection?

If she is eating the dry Hill's and is getting as much food as she used to eat with the wet, it's probably just because she likes the dry better. Don't worry about it.

I've never given my cats wet food, and the vet tells me their teeth look good. However, I've never succeeded in getting a cat to eat wet Science Diet or Iams. The eye infection might have been a trigger.

The Hills PD probably will only get eaten as a last resort when real hunger sets in. They have taste buds too. They will fast until they are convinced that it's the only thing they are going to get. Give em what they like.

i had a kitten that had the same problem with eye infections and the vet i had told me it was very common after 6 weeks the kitten should be able to eat hard food and that helps them have very stung teeth when they get older and reduces the risk of tartar and gum disease all of the things i have just named my vet explained to me and i think you have a healthy kitten with a healthy appetite for hard food and the ability to change her mind which all cats have i want to tell you i think you are a great pet owner and there are not too many of those any more so good luck :) hope your kitten loves u as much as u love her

Try mixing the two food together and see what she does. If she eats the mixture, switch back to the Hills alone and see what she does. I did that with a dog once. He wouldn't touch dog food, just meats like ham/hot dogs. So i cut hotdogs up, put it in dog food and he loved it. Switched to just plain dog food and never stopped eating it. Sometimes you just got to trick your pets.
