the best names for dogs come from the heart. I would suggest that you wait for the pup to come and get to know him. base his name on what you feel or what you see in his personality. or if you want a really sweet dog name him after the meanest person you know. dogs seem to since this and try to overcome the bad name.

www.petrix.com/dognames

lists 2,000 dog names. I think you fill find one (or two or three)
that you like.

It sounds like he is registered. So he will need a registered name (if not already so named by the breeder) and a "call" name, the name you call him by. If he does not have a registered name, ask your breeder. There are rules for registered names, and she/he can help you.

Congratulations on your new pet.

I just got a Maltese a month ago and named him Teddy (because he looked like a little white teddy bear). The minute I picked him up, I named him. And believe me, the name suits him.

Wait till you get him and trust me, a name will come to you.

how about "bean" like in the clique series by lisi harrison (author) her dog is also black and a pug. She also has a charm of it on her charm bracelet. I mean maybe "bean" isnt the best name but its okay

If I were you, I would wait to name the puppy. Give him a few days, get to know him a little and he will let you know what his name should be by the way he acts!

buster...good name for a street-wise dog. i've got a beagle named buster, and he's a buster!! we've always had to keep the pet around us for awhile before the name fit the pet, there's personnality involved where a pet's name is involved. good luck here!!
