Will it still be effective? Can it be harmfull? I have two bottles of creatine that are pretty old, at least a year old.

No, creatine powder is fairly stable. As long as the bottle has been kept tightly shut so that moisture hasn't gotten in, you are fine.

Even if this is a creatine mix that has sugars mixed in, I think you will be fine as long as it has stayed dry. I am currently using up some creatine mix that expired in 2004, it is fine.

The expiration date is there primarily for the vendor to know when he should have it off the shelf. Otherwise it might get stuck in a back corner and never rotate out of the warehouse.

If you don't want the expired stuff I'll take it!

The types of suppliments that I would be wary of after the expiration date would be oil based. Vitamin E, CLA, Omega Oils, etc. They would tend to turn rancid. But dry powders with no oils in them should stay safe for years as long as they are kept dry.

I don't think so. Old pills and medicines might not be good if they're past their expiration date. I think you should get new ones.

i wouldnt take anything thats over 2 months old....
