Are there any good tips on freezing and unfreezing bread?

Do you need to cover it with something (cling film, foil, paper bag, plastic bag...) when freezing it?

What is the best way to unfreeze it? Leave it outside the fridge? Microwave? Oven?

Thanks in advance!

WRAP tightly in Saran wrap, then foil over that. Make sure there is no extra air, try to compress it all out. On the day you want to eat the bread, take it out and leave it on the counter. No need to refrigerate. If it is already sliced and you want to take a sandwich to work, say, just use frozen bread, while preparing it, it will be thaw when you are ready to eat it. For best results. Buy bread on the day it is baked, have them slice it, and then take out the slices as you need them. Unless of course you have a large crowd and you can eat it all the same day. DO NOT MICROWAVE OR USE OVEN. Counter works best.

I thought that I was the only one who did this. When I go to freeze bread, either I put the whole loaf in the freezer, or, I will take out the amount that I want to freeze and put each slice in a zip lock bag, and then place in the freezer. When I go to unfreeze, I place the frozen piece of bread in the toaster for just a few minutes. Then you are good to go !!

always cover food put into freeze, bread is no exception a covering of clingfilm is ideal, date it.
to defrost naturally is best ,but a microwave is ok on its lowest setting, you can buy part baked bread that you bake from frozen ,if you want hot bread ,baguettes are ideal for hot beef or pork n stuffing. regards LF

I leave it in its bag going in and de-frosting and just leave it on the side to defrost. Overnight usually.
Never jhad any problems with that.
