I suppose they don't teach history in school anymore. Nah, it's gotta be "social studies" instead, so that people can learn to get along in the community.

Let me ask you something. Why do you think that every Armed Force in the world has a Military Police force? Could it be that soldiers sometimes commit crimes? And let me tell you, it is considerably less than crime anywhere else.

Let me ask you another question. Why does New Orleans have the highest crime statistics across the board than any other major city in the U.S.? Yet, I don't hear people talking about Nagin's problems causing it. I don't hear nightly talking heads on various news organizations asking "Why don't we pull out of New Orleans?" They have 10 times the murder rate than the U.S. national average.

This war with Iraq was started because of 911 and to bring retaliation on another country, for what was done to the United States. Most of the soldiers doing the combat in Iraq are all between the ages of 20 and 29. They have never been brought up with war except reading about it in books. They have to grow up real fast, and make decisions that are still juvenile in nature. So when confronted with a situation when better judgement is to be used, they will do what any young man or women of their age would do. When they are told the fight is against terrorism and it is a never ending struggle, they know that they might not get through, so troubling thoughts prevail. We need an Army of volunteers who are ready for combat and ready for acting like professional soldiers. Bush has taken young men and women and is using them in an environment that they are not use to.

War does things to a person that no one person can say what it is. It effect each and every person differently. And its not only the troops that are crazy then if commiting acts of torture rape and murder are terms to be crazy then a great precentage of the civilian population are crazy also. It mostly happens with people of the nation turn their backs upon the troops and stop supporting them. Lack of faith and good will towards them is what usually causes this to happen.

And it happens in every war, go through history and you'll find similar stories of things happening.

This probably happens in every war there has ever been in the planet and by any nation. Its no excuse ofcourse, its only reality. The only difference with this one is that the means of communication has improved so much that many people can be informed. The Internet for instance and the digital cameras allow people to capture what really happens to other humans. Yes wars are terrible and so many Innocent people have to pay for what they don't do and for what they don't deserve.

Its not about the US military. Again like some previous questions you equate the US miltary with criminal behavior. Us soldiers are attempting to do an extremely difficult job under difficult circumstances. They are not criminals. Are criminal acts commited by some? yes. But that percentage is no larger and In fact i bet its smaller than the percentage of normal civilans who commit crimes. Crime or criminal acts is not something new to war. Pressure, stress, emotional instability, rage, anger and frustration, fear and a whole host of other emotions play a part in a soldiers life. Most of or many of our soldiers are little more than kids. Some handle it all and some dont. By and large our troops conduct themselves extremely well and show a lot of restraint. Until we are ALL under that kind of stress and in that situation we can never accurately judge soldiers actions.

Why do you ask this question only of one side of the conflict? The "insurgents" do not murder? they do not torture and rape? Tryin to answer- maybe this is the result of being stabbed in the back by the very people they are trying to protect- people so blinded by their hate of Bush that they are willing to help destroy their own country just to be able to smirk.
Get real. Bush will retire in a couple of years. But if you lose this war - and the only way you can lose it is by running away - then milions of people will suffer for years to come.

There are many atrocities that occur in all wars. If you think about it, there were several atrocities commited in world war II by the Nazi's,you know concentration camps, using parts of bodies to make soap, using the skin for shoe leather, starvation, rotten gruel for food...etc. If you look at what is occurring around the world you will see that the cruelties committed by people is not limited to war time. Think about Gacy and what he did, he murdered and and cut up several gay men. What about that guy who had aids, many years ago who went around sleeping, violently , with anybody he could...or the water hoses they turned on African Americans in the 60's or the rape, murder and degradation that the slaves had to endure...or the virtual wipe out of all of the Native Americans, or the treatment that was given to people with mental illness before medication was discovered. Saying all of that to say it is not only war where people act atrociously...Everyone does not rape murder or torture. So for those that do...may God have mercy on their souls.

frustration you try and yr and the enemy just won't give in and to make things worse you can't tell friend from foe. So you fall into the trap that there all animals sub human things to be stomped on. Before you know it your thinking things a couple months ago you would never think of never mind think is a good idea. This is why insurgencies should be avoided like the plague.

What bothers me most is the people who still support it, and who will STILL, after the Katrina fumble, after the Iraq War WMD lies, after the deaths of thousands of Americans, the PTSD imposed on many more, the immorality, the corporate profiteering, the ruin of our country! They will still vote these scumbags in come election time...

it is sick and it makes me feel like a Civil War here might be in order.

The Reds against the Blues. But then again that is just another lie set up by Karl Rove to divide us, the reality is ALL Americans with the exception of the weak of mind (who will always exist) are against this war and Bush and the whole enchilada.

BUCK FUSH!

It is all war, especially those where the troop do not get moral support from those that like to criticize them after telling them to go into harms way for their rights!
