Yes you should report it because the person you hit most definitely will. I would take pictures of your car and if at all possible her car just to protect you if she trys to claim more damage.

Here are the steps you should follow
1. Call you insurance company. Normally, the will want to take a recorded statement from you. Then they will call the other driver. You have almost all the information that the insurance company will ask in your question.
2. Get your vehicle fixed. It would be covered if you have collision. if you only have liability, you should still report the accident because you always want to be the one to call your insuracne company
3. Sit back an relax. Your rates will probably go up, but you do not have any further responsibilities.
In the future, don't let someone refuse to call the police if this happens. You may have gotten a citation, but I doubt it. Having the police on the scene can help provide documentation of damages and can be useful if there is an injury claim later one. That is water under the bridge on this claim, so don't worry too much.

It depends how long ago this happened. If it was over a month ago, I would wait. I would call her since you have her information and just kindly ask if she and car are Ok. IF she appears ok, then I would let it lie for now. If there is no damage, you dont have to report it. But be careful as the company likes to know about claims in a reasonable amount of time

Just report it exactly as you told us. Your insurance company will ask you some questions to get the report set up. They will contact the other person, make sure she was not injured and arrange to see her vehicle. Once they estimate her damages, they will issue pmt to her and they may have to pay for a rental car. If she is injured, they will handle her injury claim.
If you have collision coverage on your vehicle then you can get your vehicle damage repaired under that coverage and you will have to pay your deductible. It's possible since it was an at fault claim that your insurance rates may increase, unfortunately.
Hope you were ok.

Report this to the insurance company as you did on her. THe will send out and adjuster and invesitator and follow up with her company. Always get the police envolved as now she can claim she has an injury and you would have to pay those bills with out the police report on her and you condiction and the weather condictions.
I was backed into at a stop light did not call the police and we exchange insurance information in case my car had more damage then it looked like. I never called it in. They other drive did report it and his insurance company contacted mine and got 2000 dollars out of them for me not contacting the police or filling a report of accident. (he filled that I hit him)

It's your fault for following too close. You have to leave enough room between you and the car in front of you to stop safely if they stop. You don't have a leg to stand on. You'll get slammed by your insurance company and you will lose a suit against the old lady. She'd actually probably win the counter against you and you'd pay for yours and her damages. Pay it yourself and save yourself the longterm costs from the insurance company.

Explain it to your insurance co. exactly as you explained it to us. Also let them know if she claimed if she was injured or if she acted in a way that would show that she was not injured. Once you report it to the co and provide them with the necessary statements that they will request, be sure to forward all correspondence that you may receive (letters from her Insurance Co, Attorney letter (fi received) ) to the insurance co so they can handle the situation. Cooperate with them, and they will handle this without a problem.
