Why do believers always quote scripture at all times in an argument.

2006-09-02 11:28:21 · answer #1 · answered by shadowsonic2004 4 · 4 2

because christians seldom have no arguement other than scripture.

usually the basis for all of their beliefs is "the bible says it is true"

however the bible contradicts itself on many occasions. so whitch parts are to be gone by today.

for every story in the bible that a Christian can use to justify their actions and beliefs. a non-believer can find one that is the exact opposite. this should raise some questions among the christians as to what the truth really is....however you follow in blind faith and never question what is told to you.

i am a believer in gods. I am a pagan minister. I respect the beliefs of the christians right up to the part where they are trying to tell me that i am going to hell..i do not even believe in hell..

Usually to prove that by selectively quoting the bible one can find support for almost any point of view. Also, since "believers" by definition believe the bible to be "the word of God", they quote scripture to show that "God's Word" doesn't always support the "believer's" point of view

Hey, Satan did the same thing..... Matt 4:6 and Luke 4:9. A child usually does as his father.

Non-believers use the scriptures in their arguments to show the contradictory nature of the bible.

That's an ignorant question. I've never quoted the bible, nor would I ever. I don't believe a word of it, so I don't care what it says

WHAT a LOAD of RUBbish.
I can tell you are a 'believer' because you spout rubbish based on a theory based on absolutely no fact what so ever.
