I have been told about this and I would like to know the name for it, if there is one.

Why is it whenever I ask a question about mental health people think I display the symptomns? I cleary said somebody told me about it. A friend of a friend is writing a book and went to a mental hospital, where he interviewed a man that thought he had wings. When I asked if it was an independant case, he said no and that there are lots of people like that.

You might be referring to body dismorphic disorder. This is a disorder where a person believes he or she has an oddly formed body part. An example: a man thought he had a square head. Someone who thinks he has wings might fall into this category. The other possiblity is that he is just plain delusional, which could be a symptom of another disorder.

Psychosis can make people delusional. Someone who is experiencing a psychotic episode, or who is abusing substances, may suddenly believe they can fly. It is possible that they could believe they have grown wings as well!
