It's sad that our society is so uneducated that people seem to believe the stereotype that schizophrenics are dangerous (they can be, but they certainly aren't always, and studies show time and time again that they are most dangerous to THEMSELVES and their family members).

People also continue to mix up schizophrenia and multiple personality disorder (now known as DID). Schizophrenics DO NOT have multiple personalities. They experience auditory hallucinations (aka voices)....There is a difference.

A careless teen who is drunk or on drugs is just as dangerous (if not more so) than someone with a mental illness....

Mentally ill people are much more often victims of crime, not the perpetrators. Proven fact.
