My question is why rely on statistics at all. We have the power to influence what happens in our own local neighborhood, and far less power to influence what the government does. So statistics are not the issue: human beings are the issue. And there the questions have to do with what a person believes is true about what race is.
To me, the term is "gene pool." That is, people were pretty isolated into different gene pools until quite recently in history. Certainly that was continued in taboos to some extent in some cultures for some time. Visitors from elsewhere, with genes that had not been a part of the pool before, have often been considered off-limits as a mate. And how far has that ever gotten anyone, telling a girl she can't choose her own mate?
But generally, in historical times, what mixing there was came mostly from the rape of the conquered by the conquerors. That is a relatively slow way to mix gene pools. Now, with modern transportation making it possible to anyone to go anywhere, realistically, gene pool mixing has become a very different thing.
Because it turns out that biologically speaking, we are far better off mixing the genes than keeping them isolated. You have heard of the problems of "in-breeding," no doubt. Certain gene pools carry certain diseases which would be recessive and fade out except that they come from both mother's side and father's side in an in-bred community. The fewer ancestors the father and mother have in common, the healthier and stronger the children are likely to be. Basic genetics. Heck, ask any dog or cat breeder; you go to the same breed to reinforce characteristics, but "mutts" are stronger, more lovable and more appealing. Many dog breeders intentionally breed for "cockapoos" and the like; a particular cross that gets the best of both.
So race as a point of pride is silly; there's good and bad in all gene pools. But race blending as a point of pride is legitimate, because the children will be handsome, strong, healthy and, if I have anything to say about it, very well loved.

It is not just "cowboys" (by the way there are a lot of Mexican Cowboys, they even have their own type of western saddle) posting incorrect statistics, a lot of people on YA do the same and not just about this subject that you seem to hold near and dear to you, but others as well. You kind of turned that into a racist question did you not?

We need to face it. Those statistics are what I read. His posts do not bother me anymore than others. We all have a right to express ourselves.

And you make an effective use of the questions. Sound arguments are often given. You have a naturalness that we like. Please continue as you have the interest of many. I use to like others more than I do now.

Cowboy has the right to make up his own facts just as does everyone else on here.Why single him out,Ive seen far worse posts than his and so have you .hes from Canada and he has the same rights as we do here in the USA.I may not agree with him as people don't always agree with me but I don't get upset.Its my right and his and yours.That's freedom of speech,and it isn't always what you want to hear but its still freedom
