First, call AOL and cancel your account. Even if you delete AOL, you will still be charged if you don't. Then, go to start, control panel, maintenance, add/remove programs, then click on America Online 9.0, and it will ask you which program you wish to remove. Highlight AOL 9.0, then click uninstall. Make sure you remove all the other AOL junk from the add/remove programs list as well, such as the screensaver, viewpoint media player, connection manager, if applicable, and port magic.

How do you get rid of AOL if no AOL programs appear in the "add remove" section but Windows Expolorer shows several AOL folders and many files on the computer?
I don't want to just click and delete things that will cause problems.
Anyone have an idea

do what Capiio1 says, then do a back-up of any files you'll need (pictures, music, documents) and then re-install all your software from the manufacturer provided Boot-Discs (this completely wipes everything on your system and starts again from scratch) - if you're lucky AOL will be gone. If not, I'll not be surprised...
