Is there a way to find out a persons charges and and the staus of their detainment at no cost? ( In Utah)

Umm you could call and ask the Local Police tell them you are a potential employer or landlord ( not exactly legal, but if they dont find out it is a lie then will it hurt them) Also if the person Is in State DOC facilities you can check the "rosters"(ussually a website) if they are in county you can call and ask the county jailor and most of the time they will tell you.
