I just bought a Sony A100. Under Memory type the technical specs of the camera says "Memory Type CompactFlash Card Type I • Memory Stick Duo". I have seen 1 GB CF for $42.00 and another for $600.00. How can it be ?

it will work with ether Compact Flash Card Type I or Memory Stick Duo.

u should buy ether CompactFlash Card Type I or Memory Stick Duo
but it should 2Gb for the 8Mp n over digital camera.

some Memory card is less expensive than other is up on the speed n brand.
the slower reader speed of memory card will increasing time of tranfer the file from memory card to the computer.

the faster speed is alway more expensive.

Memory Stick is Sony's exclusive memory, which is more expensive. CompactFlash is the most common memory card, which makes it cheaper and easier to find on sale. Originally when the 1GB CF card first came out it was a couple hundred dollars, now they are quite a bit cheaper. The $600 price might have been a really old price

i might bypass with compact flash. It dose no longer do panorama in digicam. You do it with the CD featuring it. For some reason it purely works while saved with the XD card. Compact flashes are extra low priced and you will locate super quickly ones or 16MB etc. XD is in basic terms no exciting. you could no longer do the two at one time.
