Lack of iron in the blood. Many different reasons. Pregnancy, diet, etc. Even donating blood made me anemic for awhile. A good multivitamin that includes iron and a healthy diet should help.

Anemia is a symptom of a low red blood cell count. It has nothing to do with your skin except that you look pale. Eat foods with iron or use daily multivitamins that have iron added to them. Do not over do it or you will do more harm to yourself than good. Liver has a lot of iron in it too. Moderation is the key.

Also, don't drink anything with caffeine in it during meals, as the caffeine interferes with your body's ability to absorb iron. So no soda pop like Coke/Pepsi, Mountain Dew etc, coffee, tea, chocolate...

Also you need to find out from your doctor what he/she thinks is the cause of the anemia. There are many things that can cause anemia. You may be bleeding internally from an ulcer, or you could have a bad heart valve that smashes the blood cells rather than pushing them through the heart. Or you could be deficient in iron in your diet.

It depends on why you have anemia. The most common cause is not having or producing enough red blood cells. That means you either need to eat foods that are rich in iron (broccolli, red meat, ect...) or take a supplement. Ask your doctor for more specific details for changing your diet. You also may want to start doing yoga. The deep breathing increases oxygen in your blood, which also helps with the side effects of anemia. Good luck!

A lot of women tend to become anemic because of our periods. To get rid of anemia, you need to eat foods with a lot of iron (see link below) but you also may need to take an iron supplement.

One book I read indicates that a yeast (Candida) overgrowth, or a gluten (wheat, oats, barley and rye) intolerance can cause anemia. Foods that are rich in natural iron are good. Spinach (vitamin K) is good as is organ meats (which are bad for other reasons).

Being anemic means being deficient in red blood cells. Dark green leafy vegetables contain lots of iron, as does red meat which can help. You can also get iron tables. Check out the link.

Anemia is iron deficiency. Eat foods high in iron content like green leafy vegetables.. spinach is a good one. Also see your doctor because if it is serious enough he may give you an iron supplement until the iron in your blood is built up enough again.

Hello dear! This is very important to listen to people you do not know!
Ask your doctors!
What I know is that such symptoms are coming due to strange diets and forms of lives we are getting.
Either read the book "diet", by the father of Medicine, Hippocrates, or visit a Chines doctor, parallel, you visit a hospital. Don't be afraid to combine ideas! Listen to all and follow what is good for you, not for the doctors to secure their statistics!

for women its because we have a period every month. iron supplements help. When I was 14 the pharmacist recommended a bottle of prenatal vitamins with iron and a seperate iron supplement, one bottle of each. It corrected the problem and haven't needed Iron until the last few years....even now I don't test low, its just low for me. It worked for 20 years and two pregnancies......I only took one bottle of each, they lasted about three months.

eating foods rich in protiens- specifically red meats.
you can also take an over the counter vitamin called "Slow Fe"
and that should help bring it up. If it is seriously low, your doctor may order vitamin B12 shots. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
