bcoz they expect everyone to like the same thing. i agree i HATE mayo! especially in tuna that really p's me off!!!!

It depends on where you're buying the sandwich and what type you're buying. It has to do with supply and demand. Premade sandwiches are made with mayo cause businesses are going with the fact that the majority of ppl like mayo. If you don't like those go to a deli or sandwich shop and request a sandwich with no mayo.
I personally like mayo, but it can't be too much or it's icky. Those premade sandwiches have too much so I don't buy em.

The mayo makes the actual filling spread further and gives the impression of a loaded sandwich.

My mother has been complaining about mayo in sandwiches for the last 5 years.
I think it is because they think that it is extra tast, or expected.

Makes them moist and tasty. You can buy sandwiches with no mayo in Morrison's, I'd expect other shops are the same. Maybe you should just take a packed lunch.

cuz mayo is cheaper and they think everyone loves mayo on there sandwiches the sub shops know not everyone dikes mayo

hmmm...usually unless its a mixed salad sort of sandwich, the premade ones come plain in the stores, etc etc and you can grab mustard, ketchup, or mayo, miracle whip packets at the counter in the supermarkets...
