How many Christians stand in amazement, as a last days prophecy is fulfilled..... " Professing themselves wise, they became fools"!
Isn't it amazing that the question and attitude of the supposed open minded intellectuals, seem no more than juvenile finger pointing. Thus fulfilling this ancient prophecy.

If you read this, I say "supposed" intellects. Those who so glory in their own knowledge.. They miss truth, through presupposition.

Give the complete passage from the bible, and you will see that God was talking about the non believers and not the Christians. He was referring to those who have reprobate minds because they know they sin, and continue to do so inspite of God telling them no to.

Romans 1:21-25 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
uncleanness Matt 23:27, Rom 6:19, 2nd Cor 6:17, 2nd Cor 12:21, Gal 5:19, Eph 4:19, Eph 5:3, Eph 5:5, Col 3:5, 1st Thess 4:7 bodies 1st Cor 6:18, 1st Thess 4:4

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

The way this is phrased seems to suggest you are proud to have a lower IQ. Evidence does suggest a positive connection between low IQ and religios belief, but I did not realize someone would take that as a badge of honor. Well, good for you Corky.

How many Christians stand in amazement as THIS last days prophecy is fulfilled...'In a complete lack of awareness of their own ignorance and credulity, they waited around for the second coming until they died, never realizing how utterly self-deceived they were all of their lives.'

I think that you are misinterpreting the scripture. The real meaning of that is that Christianity is only suitable for dumbasses. This interpretation is supported by later remarks by Martin Luther:

"Reason must be deluded, blinded, and destroyed. Faith must trample underfoot all reason, sense, and understanding, and whatever it sees must be put out of sight and ... know nothing but the word of God." ~ Martin Luther

"Reason is the greatest enemy that faith has; it never comes to the aid of spiritual things, but -- more frequently than not -- struggles against the divine Word, treating with contempt all that emanates from God." ~ Martin Luther

"There is on earth among all dangers no more dangerous thing than a richly endowed and adroit reason... Reason must be deluded, blinded, and destroyed." ~ Martin Luther

"Reason should be destroyed in all Christians." ~ Martin Luther

"When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called Religion." ~ Robert M. Pirsig
