Phares states, "It [taqiyah] is done to prevent the new converts from seeing the real face of Islam; at least until their faith or mental conditioning is strong enough to make them turn against their own country and people."

Not all Muslims blow up things, yet "jihad in the cause of Allah" "jihad fee sybil Allah" is "fard ayn" "compulsory duty" for all Muslims. Why? There are rules from the Quran for combattive jihad. Read this:

What does the tape from Gadahn mean? Does anyone realize that Muslims are supposed to "dawa" "invite others to Islam" before jihad?

According to al-Mawardi an 11th Century Shafi'i jurist:

The mushrikun [infidels] of Dar al-Harb (the arena of battle) are of two types: First, those whom the call of Islam has reached, but they have refused it and have taken up arms.… Second, those whom the invitation to Islam has not reached, although such persons are few nowadays since Allah has made manifest the call of his Messenger…it is forbidden to…begin an attack before explaining the invitation to Islam to them, informing them of the miracles of the Prophet and making plain the proofs so as to encourage acceptance on their part; if they still refuse to accept after this, war is waged against them and they are treated as those whom the call has reached…

In the Hidayah, vol. II. p. 140 (Hanafi school):
It is not lawful to make war upon any people who have never before been called to the faith, without previously requiring them to embrace it, because the Prophet so instructed his commanders, directing them to call the infidels to the faith, and also because the people will hence perceive that they are attacked for the sake of religion, and not for the sake of taking their property, or making slaves of their children, and on this consideration it is possible that they may be induced to agree to the call, in order to save themselves from the troubles of war… If the infidels, upon receiving the call, neither consent to it nor agree to pay capitation tax, it is then incumbent on the Muslims to call upon God for assistance, and to make war upon them, because God is the assistant of those who serve Him, and the destroyer of His enemies, the infidels, and it is necessary to implore His aid upon every occasion; the Prophet, moreover, commands us so to do."

It's like converting to any other religion. However, you need to be careful just why you want to convert; many people who have converted to Islam a few years year ago did so for the wrong reason; for example, many black prisoners embraced Islam because they were led to believe that they were wrongly imprisoned and Islam will set them free.
After 911, many poor Americans embraced Islam because they were inspired by the Militancy of Ben Laden and his rabid gang. Remember, if Jesus was a great military soldier, all the Jews would have followed him.
A true Muslim is one who surrenders to God with his whole being and is prepared to spread peace and love. If you would convert to Islam for any other reason, then you are being misled. Remember that Satan is very active within all religions...especially my religion 'Islam.' Good luck!

You want to convert to Islam make sure its on your will and not bcoz of something you have to do. Find and seek the truth. Its easy to convert to Islam. Find some Muslim, and you have to say the shahadah.

It's look easy to said it. But once you have done. You will feel something different. This is what I heard from someone after convert to Islam. The best way find Imam in any mosque. They will help you.

One to remember after you being Muslim, whatever you do, your family still the same. Be respect.

Allah - Believe God Almighty is One, Unique, Unlike His Creation, Perfect in every way; Not like or in His Creation .

Prophets - Adam, Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Moses, David, Solomon, Jesus, Muhammad, and others mentioned in Books, peace be upon them all.


Resurrection - All people, believers and disbelievers will be resurrected for Judgment Day in real flesh and blood bodies to be judged.



Divine Destiny - Allah has complete control of all that happens, both good and evil and He has full knowledge of it all.

Five Actions ( Muslims must practice these five things):


Shahadah

Salat

Fasting

Charity

Pilgrimmage








Shahadah - Declare The Belief That Allah is ONE and Muhammad, peace be upon him, is His Last Messenger



5 Daily "salat" - The special form of worship of standing, bowing, prostrating to Allah while facing Mecca.



Fast Ramadhan - Not eating or drinking during the daylight hours for the month of Ramadhan (Lunar calander).



Pay Alms Tax - 2 1/2% of Exess wealth distributed annually to the poor and needy.



Hajj - Pilgrimmage to Mecca once in the life when Allah provides a way, and it is safe to do so.

you take the Shahada preferbly infront of witnesses. then you have to do ghusl (cleansing) and then pray.

In front of other Muslims you say "I bear witness that there is no
god, But God and Muhammad is his messenger," Usually people say it on Fridays at Prayer. Just call an imam at the local mosques and tell him you want to take shaddah. you have to give up a belief in the Living God, in a savior by the name of Jesus Chirst. If you already have no belief in a living God then you need only do a search on islam and find a place of worship in your area, or nearest your location. they would be happy to recieve you, I would urge you though to pray that the truth be revealed to you no matter which way you turn. and pray hard to that end. I once read that there isn´t a special ceremony.... You only have to express your will to convert to a muslim religios leader (imam?) Then you are a muslim...
