Why is it that Americas enlistment is down, but re enlistment is higher than ever, could it be our solider now something we don’t about the importance of this war.

Could it be that b/c there seeing whats really going on instead of here listing to the liberal controlled press(I do admit that don’t include fox new there the good ones)

Yes dear, they know the truth because they are over there. They feel it is a worthy cause.....its hard for our young men, who because they are young have a tendency to be liberal by nature....which we don't mind, otherwise they wouldn't have a heart.....the young guys just don't know, the ones that do enlist......other might want to finish college first so they can enlist as an officer knowing that if they are needed they will be drafted and will gladly serve.....

A lot of people dont want to join the military because of all the rumors that they have heard. I love my military career and wouldnt change it for a thing. Its not even so much for the benefits. Its more that you become accustomed to this lifestyle so its almost that once you get out you have something missing.

If people would just give the military a chance I would bet at least that wouldnt want anything to do with the military would end up by making a career out of it....

I love the military and aint leaving until they force me into retirement. Matter of fact after my active enlistment is over after 20 some years I will prob go into the reserve or something.....

Many refuse to join the army because they're afraid they might have to go to war. This is very hard for me to understand because in 1940 I joined the infantry in order to go to war.
England and France were in a war against Germany. I knew it wouldn't be long before we would be in it. Yep, I crawled through the mud and blood all the way to Czechoslovakia.
I believe that everybody should put in a hitch. It's good for building character. For those who like military life, it's a wonderful life with a great retirement plan.

Reasons: soldiers enjoy and are used to the way of life; soldiers get a sense of purpose and identity (which we're all seeking) especially with the rallying cry of fighting against terrorism (all of us are seeking a sense of purpose and meaning in this life; and the reenlistment bonus (15K) [this latter item is not negative; army officials have attributed re-enlistment to the bonus and the sense of purpose].

It could also be that the military taught them nothing, no usable skills and that the military uilt trips them into thinking that if they go no one will take thier place and thier buddies will get killed as a result of this mess so they get discouraged and just say fuckit and re-enlist.

They know nothing you don't know. My husband is in th AF. He knows all you know and no more. He wants to re-enlist.
Re-enlistment is high simply because when people get in they see the benefits and don't want to give them up.
